Angola Cave-chat - new species for our subregion

This bird was previously thought to be endemic to Angola until it was discovered in the Zebra Mountains in the Kaokoveld, northern Namibia by Wessel Swanepoel! Incredible that a seemingly breeding resident could have been undiscovered until 2012! We went looking for this species in December 2012 and the harsh conditions really made me work hard to get decent images. Click here to view more images of Angola Cave-chat in the Gallery.
